Chelsea and Harrison

From Chelsea!: We have been to a lot of weddings over the past few years, and I think that helped us focus on what really mattered to us. We have never been to a wedding and said "that was a really fun wedding, but I wish they had used more flowers!" Or, "that dance party was great, but I wish there had been more crafts!" And we were on somewhat of a budget, so we chose to focus on the things that would make for a great experience for guests first and foremost. We wanted the day to reflect us as a couple, which is a great party, a room full of laughter, friends, and family, and a comfortable setting.

We hired an amazing DJ and found a wonderful caterer to create a Mexican family style meal for us, and used the rest of the budget to provide plenty of wine and cocktails, and of course a dessert and then candy bar. My mom, step mom, and sister put together all of the flowers and bouquets for us, and since I hated the idea of throwing away 15 table arrangements after just a few hours, we used white orchids as centerpieces and told everyone to take them home. My incredible bridesmaid Katie, who is a graphic designer, did a really great job on all of the print materials. My sister and her boyfriend helped Harrison design and order custom suits (Don Draper inspired) through their menswear company. Family friends drove the cakes in from my favorite bakery in Sacramento. Instead of hiring a planner, my sister and my best friend (co-MOHs), parents and bridesmaids coordinated everything for me on the day of. My sister did my makeup and my good friend from high school who is now a hairdresser did our hair. It was truly a family effort and that made it so special. Our vendors were phenomenal.
